Gevalia Kaffe is a subsidiary belonging to Kraft Foods and is the biggest coffee roastery in Scandinavia. In the United States, the company offers a coffee club membership that delivers premium coffee and teas directly to customers. Gevalia Coffee offers more than 40 different varieties of premium coffee and tea.

Located in Gavle (which is spelled Gevalia in Latin) in Sweden, Gevalia Kaffe was first brought there in 1920 by the Victor Theodore Engwall trading company. It remained a family owned business until 1971 when they sold it to General Mills. General Foods eventually became Kraft Foods, and that’s the company that owns Gevalia today. Gevalia Coffee is mostly sold in Denmark, Sweden and the Baltic area.

Gevalia is represented as a mainstream brand in Northern Europe, while in the United States, it’s marketed as a premium brand. The Gevalia Kaffe company also offers a coffee service for offices and businesses, with coffee available by the case or as premium singles. You can also get Gevalia coffee for the popular Tassimo Beverage System.

Gevalia began selling in the United States in 1983, offering a mail-order delivery service. Today, they are most well known for their introductory specials, where customers can get a free coffeemaker, and free mugs, carafe’s, coffee, and other coffee-related gifts.

Gevalia specials were first offered through advertisements in magazines, direct mailings, and on television. Now, the lead promotion method is Internet advertising, started in the early 2000s. Gevalia is the most popular coffee club in the world. Gevalia launched a new web site in 2009, along with new marketing campaigns, and better customer service. The result was explosive growth in their popular coffee club program.

Gevalia has available more than 40 varieties of coffee and tea. Most of these coffee varieties are Arabica blends, made from beans that come from Guatamala, Columbia, Costa Rica and Kenya. Gevalia Kaffe, their signature coffee blend, is comprised of six separate varieties of Arabica and Brazilian beans. The result is a complex flavor enjoyed by coffee drinkers.

Gevalia has made it its mission to support small farmers and green growing practices. Gevalia’s Karoma Estate coffee is produced in the Dominican Republic using sound environmental practices. The farmers keep 25% of their land set aside for to conserve local wildlife.

Gevalia has also formed relationships with other coffee growers in the world. In Colombia, Gevalia has worked to upgrade coffee production methods, and improve water quality and living conditions for the local populace. In Peru, Gevalia set up quality standards for Peruvian coffee and helped Peruvian farmers gain market share. In 2002, this partnership resulted in the introduction of Peruvian Organic Coffee. Other Gevalia assistance include education programs and providing food and medicine to those in need.

Gevalia Coffee continues to find, blend, and roast and make available some of the finest coffees available through their Gevalia offers, keeping coffee lovers satisfied, cup after cup.

What’s your notion of a special gift basket? If you are in need, I would like to suggest something that so many people absolutely love: coffee. It requires hardly any effort to hit upon a great coffee lovers gift basket with that always-appealing gourmet aroma and taste.

Today, right now, on a mountainside a world away, there are attractive landscapes of bean-laden coffee trees. These coffee beans will be hand picked, roasted, packaged and on your grocer’s shelves within a few days. We take it for granted that a premium cup is at hand anywhere in the world that folks assemble to socialize. With it comes the awareness of how much enjoyment this cup has to dish out.

You can discover the importance yourself by shopping for superior quality coffees listing one magic word – Arabica. More important than all the super duper packaging turned out by marketing departments, Arabica is the name to look for when verifying the variety of beans. So, read the label. It’s the favorite choice of those who have found a taste for a flavorful gourmet cup.

Take my advice and use this attraction as an plus. Simply by opting for well-known and respectable brands you’ll be assured your coffee lover gift basket will be a success. By piecing together an assortment of coffees, you can be confident that there will be something in that gift basket to satisfy the palate of any coffee lover.

Learning more will aid in making savvy selections for your coffee basket; learning something of the colorful history of this beverage will enhance your enjoyment. It will help you to make savvy choices for your coffee lovers gift baskets.

If you are tuned into earth-friendly matters be aware that some coffee labels are identified with certifications of fair trade and Save the Rain Forest. Buying coffee with good practices endorsements means that you are helping make it likely for some coffee growers to finally earn a living wage. You can repay these coffee farmers for sustaining the soil and wildlife by helping projects that benefit from your choices.

And what else are you going to include in the gift basket along with your coffee choices? Why not try a few additions from your own inventory of favorites to enhance the coffee theme? It makes a perfect theme for college gift baskets for someone away at school or, if you are short of time, why not look to the professional basketiers for smart ideas? For starters, there are breakfast breads and jam and baked treats to go with an after dinner coffee such as different choices of gourmet cookies or biscotti.

This is your chance to make your coffee gift basket better than just an total brew sampler. For centuries, coffee houses were not only the preferred hangout where people went to simply buy a good cup of coffee but also the spot where people socialized, revolutions were plotted, bargains sealed and romances sparked. Search out the bookstores; there are fascinating accounts that tell both the passionate and the gritty impact this economic icon has had on life and trade. Here is a chance to put your com”>gift wrapping ideas to work. For book lovers, Uncommon Grounds and The Devil’s Cup are an engaging adventure and the beautifully filmed video, Black Coffee, by Irene Angelico, is worth a watch. Add a pretty bow and make it a special item in your gift basket.

Coffee gifts are perfect if you know your intended recipient loves coffee.

Coffee gifts are perfect if you know your intended recipient loves coffee. I personally would love it if people sent me gifts of various coffees and such. There is a huge variety out there and we’ll explore the options.

When giving any gift, you should at least know something about the person you are giving the gift to. If they love coffee, that’s great, but what else do you know about them? Do they have one of those instant coffee machines like the Keurig coffee maker? If they do, great, you can get them coffee gifts with an assortment of the various cartridges in them. How about things that go with coffee? I could think of lots of things I eat with my coffee. Here are a few suggestions: biscotti, chocolate, cookies, biscuits. Hmmm… I love biscotti with my coffee. Presentation is important as nothing ruins a nice surprise like a poorly presented gift. If you are shopping online for your coffee surprise, make sure they have pictures of the final product to assure it is up to snuff. If you are getting chocolate to go with that coffee, then I highly suggest dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is high in antioxidants and is actually good for you. Another side benefit to giving chocolate is that it does not expire immediately so you don’t have to worry about spoilage.

Coffee gifts are perfect seasonal gifts. During the holidays each year, it is pretty safe to give the gift of coffee. You could also give a fruit basket and a cheese basket to cover all the bases. There are many things you could give and it is easy to go crazy. Fortunately, coffee lasts longer than cheese or steak, so keep this in mind if your intended recipient is out of town a lot and/or doesn’t eat at home that much. Now that I think of it, Valentine’s Day is a great holiday to give chocolate and coffee gifts. Women love chocolate so what better accompaniment is there than coffee? Need I say more?
